I'm Stephanie Goos Johnson.

I create and live at Far Fields Farm in Washington, Connecticut — in a home that has been in the family for four generations. I am privileged to have a beautiful and inspiring setting in which to paint and raise my three little boys. Life is wonderful; and almost always messy. Alongside the chaos, I try to be a little bit creative and grow every day.

My professional foray into the arts began with a BFA in Graphic Design followed by a stint in packaging design and various freelance gigs. I began painting after being cooped up with kids for a few years and realizing that my creativity desperately needed an outlet. I wanted to express the cycles of nature I saw around me and the way those cycles were reflected in the inherent changes in life.

Making art requires that you pay attention — that you notice the light, the seasons and the little joys that make our spiritual connection with the earth. I hope my work reveals the moments in nature (and in life), that can change from dramatic to peaceful and back again. Creating art and cultivating a creative life is  a wonderful privilege and I thank you for visiting!
